About this activity

Gain an understanding of the mysterious rituals and strict rules of sumo wrestling at this sumo experience in Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo. Have a chance to experience sumo wrestling Show for yourself and savor chanko (chicken hot pot) and other Japanese dishes prepared by former sumo wrestlers. Watch live demonstrations and listen to bilingual commentary by former sumo wrestlers to learn about this iconic Japanese sport. If you want to experience sumo firsthand, the highlight of the event will be the opportunity to enter the ring yourself. Feel what it’s like to be in the ring as you have a go at being a rikishi, or sumo wrestler.

As well as experiencing sumo, enjoy chanko-nabe and other Japanese delicacies, receive a photo with a sumo wrestler, and take home an original sumo goods set as souvenirs.

*Late Show at 8:30 p.m. does not include a meal, but all-you-can-drink is included.

Children from 0 to 2 years old are free of charge, but no seat and meal is provided. 3 to 12 years old must apply at the child rate. "Vegetarian and Vegan meals are available, but must be requested at least 2 days prior to the reservation date. “We are not able to provide gluten-free, halal meals, but customers are welcome to bring their own.” *Wheelchair-accessible seating is limited, so please be sure to inform us at the time of reservation. *Late Show at 8:30 p.m. does not include a meal, but all-you-can-drink is included. There is no additional charge for food.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund. For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded. Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted. Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
